PURPOSE: To provide a dummy bar for thin slab of which inner part is formed of an elastic member to improve flexibility and durability in a continuous thin strip casting process such as continuous thin slab caster, and of which outer part is formed of a plural plates so that the dummy bar is drawable irrespective of pressing force of guide rolls. CONSTITUTION: The dummy bar(10) for thin slab comprises a head part(20) comprising a head plate(21) which is connected to a top end of the slab by being inserted into a mold for continuously casting the slab, and at one side of which an insertion hole is formed so that a connection rod(22) is inserted into the insertion hole; a shoulder part(30) comprising a head connection plate(31) equipped with an insertion hole into which the connection rod is inserted, and upper and lower fixing plates(32,33) which are connected to the head connection plate by means of the clamping member and respectively rested on upper and lower parts of an elastic element(60); a body part(40) comprising upper and lower plates(41,42) continuously rested on the upper and lower parts of the elastic element respectively, and a clamping member(70) for connecting the upper and lower plates such that they are not separated from each other; and a tail part(50) comprising a tail plate(51) into which an end of the elastic element is inserted such that the elastic element is fixed to the tail part by means of the clamping member, and at an end of one side of which a catching groove(52) is formed.
