PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing a pressure vessel is provided not to exclude the result of spare physical properties according to a cutting work by performing an improvement work before a hydraulic test, thereby manufacturing cost. CONSTITUTION: A shell(110), an upper header(130), and a lower header(150) are separately manufactured. The upper and lower header are positioned at upper and lower ends of the shell respectively, and then only the lower header is welded to the lower end of the shell. A portion at which the upper header contacts with the shell is improved for good welding. In the state that the improved upper header and shell contact with each other, a ring(190) is positioned on the inner surfaces of the shell and the upper header. Then, the ring is welded to the inner surface of the upper header and the inner surface of the shell. A hydraulic test is performed in the state that the ring is welded to the inner surface of the upper header and the inner surface of the shell. The pressure vessel which has passed the hydraulic test is moved to a working place, and the ring is removed from the upper header and the shell. Then, interior structures are inserted into the shell and fixed to the shell. Then, the upper header is located at the upper end of the shell, and welding is performed along the improved portions of the upper header and the shell.
