PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication method simultaneously enabling the reduction of power consumption and high-speed communication, a communication device, a game system using it, and a game controller for the communication method for communicating with a plurality of communication partners, the communication device, and the game controller. SOLUTION: A communication state in a communication channel is determined. As a result, when it is determined that the communication channel is in a communication state, standby is made for preset specified standby time. Contrarily, when it is determined that the communication channel is not in the communication state, communication is made by using the communication channel and specified standby time is allowed to differ for each of a plurality of communication devices.
