<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information providing method and program, capable of efficiently providing information to a predetermined area. <P>SOLUTION: An information providing system 11 comprises a management computer 12 and a file storage part 21 which stores files. The system is connected via a network N to an input/output terminal 13 which allows the input and output of the data of the files. On receiving from the input/output terminal 13 a request for information about files that can be outputted, the management computer 12 searches for a terminal information storage part 25 to extract a regional code from a terminal identifier. Then an attribute information storage part 22 is searched to extract attribute information in which a set region corresponding to the regional code is stored.
