POLARIZATION TRANSDUCER AND BLOCK FOR POLARIZATION TRANSDUCER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an easy-to-manufacture polarization transducer that dispenses with a conventional troublesome process in which a strip-like 1/2 wavelength plate is stuck to the surface of a polarization transducer in a final manufacturing stage.

SOLUTION: In the block 119 for a polarization transducer, a translucent substrate 115 having a polarized light separating film 116 on one surface and a translucent substrate 113 having a reflection film 114 on one surface are arranged alternately and in the manner that one surface of the translucent substrate oppositely faces the other surface of the adjacent translucent substrate, with a 1/2 wavelength plate 117 disposed between the one surface of one translucent substrate and the other surface of the other translucent substrate. Then, this block for a polarization transducer is cut along a plurality of parallel faces extending obliquely to the surface of the translucent substrates to form the polarization transducer 101.
