DUOBINARY ENCODER AND OPTICAL DUOBINARY TRANSMITTER USING THE SAME

A duobinary encoder and an optical duobinary transmitter using the same are provided to remove restriction in the number of input signals by not using an existing feedback type encoder and also remove influence on a PRBS(Pseudo-Random Bit Sequence). A discriminating unit(910) discriminates whether the number of '0' of data input signals of the N number of channels is an even number or an odd number. A toggle unit(920) toggles an output signal of the discriminating unit(910) if the number of '0' is the even number. An intermediate signal generating unit(930) determines whether to perform phase shifting on other remaining channels according to a data input signal based on one arbitrary channel among the N number of channels. A phase separating unit(940) separates a data group on which phase shifting is not performed and a data group on which phase shifting is to be performed according to an output signal of the intermediate generating unit(930) and the data input signal, and outputs them.
