The device has an elongated body (1) disposed along an axis parallel to a longitudinal axis of an intra-medullary canal of a bone. A knuckle thread (3) is formed on the body for accommodating a removable band provided with cutting edges. The band includes a spur cooperating with a groove (5) that is formed near an upper end of the knuckle thread for maintaining the band on top of the body. An independent claim is also included for a system for mounting a band on a body of a grater.
