<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bar code reader for a tire which realizes cost reduction without the need of expensive equipment. <P>SOLUTION: A display body detection part 20 and a display body read part 30 are positioned at a specified position in a radial direction of the tire A, the tire A is rotated by a driving roller 90, and when a bar code display body B is detected by the display body detection part 20, bar code information of the bar code display body B is read by the display body read part 30. Thus, the bar code display body B of the rotating tire A can be read at a specified position in the circumferential direction of the tire A.
