<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a road lamp monitoring device and a monitoring method wherein a communication time is sufficiently secured and communication reliability can be enhanced. <P>SOLUTION: In this road lamp monitoring device, a state detection means that is installed on a road lamp pole or in the vicinity of it and detects the state of the road lamp and a road lamp additional device which comprises a transmission circuit capable of transmitting by radio road lamp information combining road lamp non-lighting information detected by the state detection means and its address are installed corresponding to a plurality of road lamps. Then, out of the road lamp additional devices, at least one is made as a master unit (A, b) and others are made as slave units (B, C, E, F and G) and the road lamp information of the slave unit is transmitted to the master unit using a communication circuit, and further, the road lamp information from the road lamp additional device is transmitted to the communication device installed in a vehicle. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
