<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To supply an IC card improved in use efficiency of a memory. <P>SOLUTION: A first region for validating a write password and a second region for validating a read password are set in a user area of the IC card. When a write command to the first region is transmitted from a read/write device along with a password, it is checked against the write password; and when a read command to the second region is transmitted, it is checked against the read password. As a result of the checking, when the passwords coincides with each other, the respective commands are executed. A read password limit address and a write password limit address showing upper limit addresses for validating the read password and the write password are set; and the read password limit address and the write password limit address are made changeable. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
