A display device is provided to prevent the capacitance between driving TFTs(Thin Film Transistors) and a black matrix from generating in an insulating interlayer, thereby reducing retardation time of a driving circuit and producing an image of high resolution, by forming the black matrix of resin. A pixel electrode and a TFT(100) connected to the pixel electrode are formed on a substrate. A peripheral driving circuit for driving the pixel electrode is disposed on the substrate. The peripheral driving circuit has at least one TFT(99). A black matrix(127) is formed over the TFT of the peripheral driving circuit, wherein the black matrix is formed of resin. The resin includes acryl resin containing carbon black. The black matrix covers the peripheral driving circuit and contacts with the pixel electrode.
