<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a development machine for easily recognizing compatibility by an operator by securing the compatibility in many kinds of the development machine, and to provide its classification discriminating method. <P>SOLUTION: A step 83 is formed along an insertion direction on the upper face of a cover of the development machine. A plurality of attaching parts 91a-91e are provided on the upper face in a direction substantially orthogonal to the insertion direction. A discriminating projection 92 is fixed on the attaching parts at a position in response to the classification of the development machine. An image forming apparatus forms a gap 100 for passing the step 83, and the development machine without forming the step 83 on the image forming apparatus without forming the gap 100 cannot be inserted without any compatibility. When the step 83 can be inserted, the development machine cannot be inserted without any compatibility when the discriminating projection 92 collides on a discriminating engaging part 96 provided on the image forming apparatus. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
