<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high frequency inverter having simple circuitry in which a pair of switching elements having identical characteristics is employed and step-up chopper operation is attained, and also to provide a discharge lamp lighting device employing it. <P>SOLUTION: The high frequency inverter HFI comprises: a bridge type rectifying/converting circuit BRC having AC input ends j1 and j2 where a pair of switching elements Q1 and Q2 and a pair of rectifying elements D1 and D2 are connected in parallel; a chopper circuit BCH including a feedback circuit FBC provided with an inductor L1 inserted into that circuit in series with the AC input terminals, a first feedback circuit element FB1 connected in parallel with the series part of the inductor L1 and the AC input terminals, and a second feedback circuit element FB2 connected in parallel with that element, and the pair of switching elements Q1 and Q2; and third and fourth rectifying elements D5 and D6 interposed between the first and second feedback circuit elements and the series circuit of the pair of switching elements. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
