<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multicolor image recording device in which the quantity of toner consumption can be managed and toner consumption can be saved to make preparations for the case when the toner is really needed. <P>SOLUTION: The image recording device forms an output image with toner of a single color onto recording paper on the basis of an output image data. The image recording device includes: a toner consumption permissible quantity setting means for setting the permissible quantity of toner per unit job; and a toner consumption quantity calculating means for calculating, on the basis of the output image data, the quantity of toner consumption for a predetermined job. The image recording device is provided with an image output means which, when the quantity of toner consumption calculated by the toner consumption quantity calculating means is determined to be larger than the permissible quantity of toner consumption set by the toner consumption permissible quantity setting means, outputs an image after adjusting each pixel density of the output image data so that the quantity of toner consumption falls within the permissible quantity of toner consumption. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
