Method for genomic cloning and sequencing genomes, comprising: a) constructing a genomic library in a methylation restrictive host, wherein the library has fragments of genomic DNA having methylated repetitive DNA segments and genes and are contained within a methylation restrictive bacterial host b) propagating the bacterial host under conditions to permit cleaving and eliminating of methylated repetitive DNA segments form the host c) sequencing the uncleaved DNA segment.
