METHOD FOR MANAGING LICENSE, INFORMATION PROCESSOR AND METHOD, AND PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily obtain license; and to provide license that can deal with a variety of services while protecting the copyrights of contents.

SOLUTION: A sub-license that specifies the conditions for using the contents distributed by a content server 12 are added to the contents. A license server 13 provides the main license that specifies the conditions for using the entire contents distributed on channels for which a user subscribes. When the reproduction of the contents is directed, a receiver 15-1 is permitted to reproduce the contents provided both of the conditions specified by the sub-license and the main license are met. Applicable to personal computers capable of sending and receiving information via a network as well as to set-top boxes that control the acquisition of contents and their output.
