<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of preventing the contamination of an image carrier and a charging means due to an addition agent included in a recording medium, especially calcium carbonate and suppressing image defection. <P>SOLUTION: An exposure means 90 is disposed on the upstream side of the rotational direction of a photoreceptor drum 10 than a cleaning device 60 and the surface of the photoreceptor drum 10 after a toner image is transferred is exposed by the exposure means 90. The amount of exposure by the exposure means 90 is determined in accordance with the kinds of recording medium to which a visible image is transferred. Namely, the amount of exposure by means of the exposure means 90 is determined so that an electrostatic adsorption force of residual material remaining on the photoreceptor drum 10 after transfer to the photoreceptor drum 10 is reduced by the exposure means 90 and, therefore, the removal of the residual material can be satisfactorily performed by means of a cleaning blade 61 disposed on the cleaning device 60. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
