<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus, capable of deciding environment as the one where dew condensation is easily caused by using a sensor or the like installed conventionally, without providing a new sensor. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 59 is provided with a heater 6 or a fan 7 and is also provided with an environment sensor 8 for measuring the temperature and the humidity (ambient temperature T2 and ambient humidity H) of the installation place. a temperature sensor 18, and a control part 1 controlling the driving of the heater 6 and the fan 7. The control part 1 stores a dew point temperature table and prescribes dew point temperature in the dew point temperature table, from relation between the ambient temperature T2 and the ambient humidity H. Furthermore, the temperature (in-machine temperature T1) inside an image reader 29 is calculated from the measured temperature by the sensor 18.
