<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and accurately reduce color shift generated by speed fluctuation of an image carrier without providing a specific mechanism. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus determines that load is increased and a rotating speed of an intermediate transfer belt 16 is lowered when detecting a contact of a cleaner 23, and performs insertion processing for inserting one line scanning line at a prescribed time (TO) interval in order to correct the color shift of a sub-scanning direction due to speed lowering. The image forming apparatus determines that the rotating speed is temporarily increased by being released from load when detecting retracting of the cleaner 23. In order to correct the color shift of the sub-scanning direction due to speed increase, thinning processing for thinning scanning lines at m line intervals is performed while passing T1 from retracting detection. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
