PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly perform the complete release of thrust force for an electric brake device by quickly extinguish coil energization in an electric motor of inverter control type in case that the motor is abnormal.

SOLUTION: A relay switch 43 for selectively connecting a power supply wire 31vb of an inverter 31 with a ground line GND is provided in between the inverter 31 and a power supply 21. Between the relay switch 43 and the ground line GND, a power consuming device 44 formed out of a resistive element is provided.
