PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote control system that allows a body device 12 to perform signal processing suitable for oneself via a remote control device 14 without allowing each of a plurality of users to perform troublesome operation. SOLUTION: In the remote control device 14, user selection operation is made prior to the start of control. In a remote control CPU 46, the identifier of a selected user is held by a register 50r, and the user identifier held by the register 50r is included in a remote control signal for transmission for a period until the user is changed from then on. In the body device 12, each group of setting values of the plurality of users is registered in a register 36r in advance. When the remote control signal is received, a body CPU 38 controls a circuit concerned, according to the group of setting values of the user corresponding to the identifier included in a reception signal.
