<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a semiconductor light emitting device for taking all possible measures to ensure eye-safety, and for sufficiently developing a function as a communicating element for optical space transmission and a function as an element for illumination/display. <P>SOLUTION: The stem 1 of a base is fixed with a mount stand 3 on which a semiconductor light emitting element 2 is mounted, the stem 1 is also fixed with a cylindrical case 4 having an opening, and a package 6 is formed so that the mounting stand 3 can be surrounded. Then, the upper part of the cylindrical case 4 of the package 6 (the radial direction of the light emitting element) is formed with a reflecting frame 10 having a cone-shaped recess 8 whose inner peripheral face is a reflecting surface 7, and a light guiding body 12 constituted of a transparent member is arranged so that a through-hole 9 of the reflecting frame 10 positioned at the upper part of the radial direction of the semiconductor light emitting element 2 can be closed. Furthermore, the cone-shaped recess 8 of the reflecting frame 10 is packed with translucent resin 13, a light scattering part 11 formed on the light emitting face 16 of the light guiding body 12 is buried, and a projecting lens 14 is formed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
