<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing apparatus capable of stably maintaining desired toner concentration even in such the situation that the flowability of the toner is not stabilized, and to provide an image forming apparatus using the developing apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The developing apparatus is provided with: a developer carrier 3; a 1st developer storage part 4a; a developer retreat part 7; a developer separating means 8; a 2nd developer storage part 4b for storing two-component developer so that the developer can be supplied to the 1st developer storage part 4a; a toner storage part 5 for storing the toner so that the toner can be supplied to the 2nd developer storage part 4b; and a partitioning member 12 for separating the developer retreat part 7 from the 1st developer storage part 4a, and a toner concentration detecting means SU is arranged in the 1st developer storage part 4a, and each of stirring members in the 1st developer storage part 4a, in the 2nd developer storage part 4b and in the toner storage part 5 are controlled so as to be driven/stopped in accordance with the detection result by the toner concentration detecting means SU. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
