<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lid opening/closing mechanism for a box with a lid, which mechanism enables a flat design eliminating a gripping part, opens the lid easily and retains it at a full-open position, prevents a large force from acting on the lid when it is closed, and is free from a concern of deformation under a high temperature. <P>SOLUTION: The lid 3 is arranged turnably on an opening of a box via a hinge 4. The lid opening/closing mechanism for the box includes a torsion coil spring 10 which applies energy to the lid 3 in its opening/closing direction, and a lock means which locks the lid when it is closed. When the lock of the lid 3 is released, the lid 3 moves open and stops at the position where an energy-applying force of the torsion coil spring 10 in one direction and the deadweight of the lid 3 balance. When the lid 3 is opened further beyond a neutral opening position, the lid 3 is retained at the full-open position by an energy-applying force of the torsion coil spring 10 in the other direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
