<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform both a supercharging pressure control and an EGR control by a variable displacement turbocharger by a simple control method by suppressing a variation in EGR rate in transient operation. <P>SOLUTION: This controller of an internal combustion engine comprises a nozzle opening control means controlling the variable nozzle opening of an exhaust turbine 5B installed in the exhaust passage 9 of the engine 1. A feedback control is performed so that an actual supercharging pressure detected by an intake pressure sensor 7 can follow up a target supercharging pressure according to the operating state. In the transient operation, a feedback amount is corrected by a transient correction means so that a feedback gain is smaller than that in a stationary operation to prevent the nozzle opening from varying largely. Since the variation of the gas amount passing an EGR valve 13 installed in an EGR passage 12 can be suppressed, the controllability of the EGR rate is improved. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
