<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a food information providing system confirming whether a dish to be examined contains specific food without taking time. <P>SOLUTION: This food information providing system is provided with a menu 200 and a food information providing device 100. The menu 200 is provided with a storage means in which information on food used in published dishes is recorded beforehand, and a communication means for transmitting food information. The food information providing device 100 is provided with a comparing means in which information on food specified by a user is recorded beforehand, for determining whether the food used in the dishes published on the menu 200 contains the food specified by the user by comparing with the received food information, and a notifying means for notifying the user of the result compared by the comparing means.
