<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a moving image decoding, method capable of properly carrying out concealment of a picture at the occurrence of error, in image decoding for referencing a plurality of decoded images and continuing the decoding with fewer image deteriorations. <P>SOLUTION: The moving image decoding method includes an error occurrence location discrimination step of discriminating an error occurrence region of a stream, when an error is detected at the decoding; and a picture information management step of storing and managing picture information in addition to image data of the decoded images, individually carrying out update and concealment for the picture management information and the image data, in response to the error occurrence region, and using it when the picture management information is correctly decoded, even when the image data are subjected to concealment, so as to maintain correct reference relations, even for succeeding processes. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
