<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storage water heater that can reduce reheating operations and can reduce loss by heat radiation by eliminating unnecessary hot water storage. <P>SOLUTION: The storage water heater comprises time measuring means 31 for measuring the time of a heating operation under hot water exhaustion, comparing means 33 for comparing the time measured by the time measuring means 31 with a preset predetermined time, and determining means 34 for determining that a heated water quantity is insufficient if the comparing means 33 find the measured time exceeding the predetermined time.
