<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology of preventing a defect of image from taking place in the case of embedding document information such as a bar code to the image. <P>SOLUTION: A document information embedding apparatus detects a blank region of an image to be output when embedding of document information to the output image is instructed, determines one or more rectangular regions to which the document information can be embedded on the basis of the detected blank region, then respectively calculates sizes of the determined rectangular regions, divides the document information so that the size of the divided document information items does not exceed the calculated size of the rectangular regions, generates an image expressing the document information division on the basis of the divided document information items, and embeds the generated image to part or all of the rectangular regions to produce the output image. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
