PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an information providing device in which a user can acquire desired information easily.

SOLUTION: A top screen 301-1 is created from a degree of genre relevancy table 121-1. When an item of "3. music" displayed on the top screen 301-1 is selected by a user, the relevancy of genre ID "J3" corresponding to the "3. music" is updated. Consequently, the relevancy of genre ID "J3" on the genre relevancy table 121-1 is updated to "2" as shown on a genre relevancy table 121-2. A top screen 301-2 is created by the genre relevancy table 121-2. More specifically, the screen is updated such that the third item "music" is displayed as a first item. The invention is applicable to a server providing information.
