<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving method for an organic EL display capable of improving animation image characteristics by suppressing the pseudo-contours, image slippage, etc., of the case animation image display is performed. <P>SOLUTION: A set operation and a reset operation are alternately carried out every time one of scanning lines is selected in one frame period. Namely, the scanning lines are selected in order of Y1(s)→Y3(r)→Y2(s)→Y4(r)→Y3(s)→Y5(r)→ to Yn(s)→Y2(r) and a circuit is made. All the scanning lines Y1-Yn are selected respectively twice each in this one circuit.
