<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic toner capable of faithfully reproducing the lines of a latent image, giving a high density of a solid portion, and ensuring low toner consumption. <P>SOLUTION: The magnetic toner is used in an image forming apparatus in which, with respect to each pixel in image data, the total value of pixel values near the pixel is calculated, and (i) when the total value of the pixel values is equal to the pixel value of the pixel itself, exposure is performed with image exposure intensity based on the original image data; and (ii) when the total value of the pixel values is larger than the pixel value of the pixel itself, exposure is performed after performing processing, such that image exposure intensity to pixels is made relatively lower than the image exposure intensity based on the original image data. An average circularity of the magnetic toner is ≥0.950; and the product of a number average particle diameter D and a residual magnetization σr in a magnetic field of 79.6 kA/m is 3.2-38.0. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
