<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a security system which makes it difficult to cancel the security by a third party even if equipment for canceling the security is stolen or lost and the third party who has illegally acquires the same tries to cancel the security, thereby achieving higher security performance, and to provide a security setting canceling method. <P>SOLUTION: According to the security system, two types of coded information items are separately transmitted from the same transmitter via different transmitting means. Then a main device which receives the coded information items carries out arithmetic operations based on the two coded information items, and determines whether or not cancellation of the security is permitted based on operational values obtained from a result of the arithmetic operations.
