<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device and its method which can simply check the image quality by improving the visibility of the image for checking the image quality. <P>SOLUTION: A test pattern TP is formed on a recording material for a user to check the image quality. The test pattern TP includes monochromatic yellow, cyan, magenta, and black images, i.e. Iy, Ic, Im, Ik and also a yellow-and-cyan mixed color image Iyc. Although the yellow toner color is hard to observe when it is in a single color, it is easy to observe when mixed with other colors.
