<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem wherein transfixing is difficult depending on the position and travel of a blood vessel although transfixing is performed while describing a major axis image of a target blood vessel conventionally using a general-purpose linear ultrasonic search unit when transfixing the blood vessel in the body under an ultrasonic image guide. <P>SOLUTION: This bar-like linear ultrasonic search unit has a groove of semicircular cross section disposed at the center part of a side face vertically to an ultrasonic transmitting/receiving surface to fix a cylindrical puncture needle guide implement. While describing a minor axis image of the target blood vessel, the cylindrical puncture needle guide implement is brought into close contact with the groove at the search unit side face, and a puncture needle is advanced in the inner void part of the puncture needle guide implement.
