<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image generating method and apparatus capable of efficiently emitting required auxiliary light when composite object imaging means of a viewpoint conversion image photographs, in the case of photographing in a dark place or in the case of night photographing, and generating the viewpoint converted image with high degree of recognition. <P>SOLUTION: The image generating apparatus generates the viewpoint converted image on the basis of image information supplied from one or more imaging means arranged in a vehicle. The generating apparatus includes auxiliary light sources for emitting an imaged region by each imaging means and a control means for switching the auxiliary light sources for each viewpoint converted image to select the auxiliary light source to be used. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
