<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluorescent material having a broad luminescent spectrum from yellow to red light (wavelength 570-620 nm), a broad and flat excitation band at a long-wavelength side from near ultraviolet/ultraviolet to green light (wavelength 250-550 nm) and excellent light intensity and luminance and provide a method for producing the fluorescent material and a light source such as white LED produced by using the fluorescent material. <P>SOLUTION: The fluorescent material is produced by preparing Ca<SB>3</SB>N<SB>2</SB>(2N), AlN (3N), Si<SB>3</SB>N<SB>4</SB>(3N) and Eu<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>(3N) as raw materials, weighing 0.950/3 mol of Ca<SB>3</SB>N<SB>2</SB>, 2 mol of AlN, 4/3 mol of Si<SB>3</SB>N<SB>4</SB>and 0.050/2 mol of Eu<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>to get Ca:Al:Si:Eu molar ratios of 0.95:2:4:0.05, mixing the raw materials with a mortar in a glove box in nitrogen atmosphere, charging the mixed raw materials in a BN crucible, firing in nitrogen atmosphere by keeping at 1,700°C for 3 hr, and cooling from 1,700°C to 200°C spending 1 hr to obtain the fluorescent material expressed by compositional formula Ca<SB>0.950</SB>Al<SB>2</SB>Si<SB>4</SB>O<SB>0.075</SB>N<SB>7.917</SB>:Eu<SB>0.050</SB>. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
