<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image transmission device for reducing the amount of memories for transmission without reducing image quality (the number of pixels) when the moving image data and still image data are transmitted with the same transmission rate. <P>SOLUTION: In the image transmission device, a picked-up image of a photographic object and image data related to the object are transmitted with a first frame rate and a second frame rate lower than the first one. The imaging unit 11 generates the image data related with the object. In image compression units (13-16), the compression rate is so switched that the image data amount per time unit in relation with the second frame rate after compression is made lower than the image data amount per time unit in relation with the first frame rate after compression, and the image data generated from the imaging unit is compressed and generated as an output. A storage 17 stores the compressed data temporarily, and a transmission unit 18 transmits the compressed data stored in the storage with a prescribed rate. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
