<p>The correlation coefficients are computed by relating masks with preset patterns to input image matrix, so that center of the masks is matched with an object pixel of the matrix using a preset window matrix of the matrix. A mask with maximum correlation coefficient, is selected as filter mask and non-linear filtering is performed to determine an output object pixel value of the input image using the filter mask. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) input image filtering method; (2) apparatus to smooth video signal using a pattern adaptive filtering; and (3) apparatus to filter input image in video signal.</p> |
