<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a printer in which a user can perform printing while selecting a print function appropriately by imparting a simple function to the printer when print data is transmitted from a computer on a network to a printer installed at a remote place on the network and printed. <P>SOLUTION: A data transmitting/receiving section 12 is imparted with an e-mail transmitting/receiving function, a printer information generating section 13 processes the print function setting condition of a printer 1 as printer information to obtain a PDF file for displaying print setting information input screen and transmits it through the data transmitting/receiving section 12. A print information registering section 14 receives the print setting information in the form of PDF file sent back in response to transmission of the printer information through the data transmitting/receiving section 12 and stores it in a print setting information storage section 15.
