<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a security device for vehicle of after-installation type assuring versatility in its application without causing the constitution to be complicated. <P>SOLUTION: An after-installation controller 32 operates an after-installation security indicator 31 when an indicator actuation signal S1 from the body ECU 22 to a standard security indicator 29 is sensed. The indicator actuation signal S1 is the power for operation (current or voltage) for operating the standard security indicator 29. Accordingly the signal format of the indicator actuation signal S1 has no fundamental difference from maker to maker and among different car models, being common to all. There is no need to provide after-installation controllers 32 of different specifications for various makers and car models.
