<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a starting current control system capable of preventing the occurrence of inrush current, in an apparatus comprising a plurality of units, each of which is controlled by individual CPUs. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 10 is constituted of a plurality of the units each of which is controlled by the individual slave CPUs, where each of the slave CPUs includes a starting current detector (not shown) for detecting the starting current upon starting of a motor which drives devices, including the unit controlled by the slave CPU. The image forming device is communicatably interconnected to a plurality of the slave CPUs including a master CPU 20 for controlling the slave CPUs, and the master CPU 20 and each of the plurality of slave CPUs are connected, not by only communication lines but also by starting current detecting lines for detecting the starting current detected by the starting current detectors. The master CPU 20 includes a controller for controlling drive timing of the plurality of units controlled by the slave CPUs so that current values do not exceed a predetermined value of the image forming device as a whole. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
