<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that is not made to stop operating and can improve productivity. <P>SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus comprising an image carrier, a recording material carrier, a cleaning means, a storage means of storing recording materials, a conveyance path for conveying a recording materials to the recording material carrier, a size detecting means of detecting the size of the recording material disposed on the conveyance path, a comparing means of comparing the size of the recording material detected by the size detecting means with the size of a toner image, a storage means of storing the position of toner transferred onto the recording material carrier based upon the result of the comparison made by the comparing means, and a conveyance timing control means of controlling the timing where the recording material is conveyed from the conveyance path to the recording material carrier, the conveyance timing control means performs control so that the toner image on the recording material carrier and the recording material on the recording material carrier do not overlap each other. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
