A casing (19) is provided centrally therein with a chamber (23) which is a sealed structure. Small-sized separate four filter elements (27) are arranged each on opposite sides of the chamber (23) such that inflow air from a suction section (20) into the casing (19) is introduced via the elements (27) into the chamber (23). Each of the elements (27) is detachably fitted over a filter-element mount (26) having openings at its outer periphery. Upon filter-element replacement work, elements are replaced one by one by opening a window (28). An integral cast casing (I) having compressing sections (scrolls) (31a, 32a, 33a) and compressed air passages (37, 39) integrally fabricated therewith by casting is formed with receptacles (34a, 35a, 36a) for first and second intercoolers (34, 35) and an aftercooler (36) for incorporation thereof. The intercoolers (34, 35) and the aftercooler are received in the receptacles (34a, 35a, 36a) in the order named.
