<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a backlight device capable of reducing a luminance difference on a liquid crystal panel surface and a liquid crystal display device equipped with the same. <P>SOLUTION: The backlight device 3 includes a light source section 31 for irradiating a liquid crystal panel 21 displaying image information from a rear face, an optical section 32 arranged between the light source section 31 and the liquid crystal panel 21 and uniforming light emitted from the light source section 31, and a rear frame 33 in which the light source section 31 is arranged. The light source section 31 is formed by arranging a plurality of fluorescent lamps 5 in parallel. The fluorescent lamp 5 includes a glass ramp tube 5T having a straight pipe 51 and an external connection section 5a formed at the end of the straight pipe 51 of the glass lamp tube 5T. When the backlight device 3 is in the using state, the fluorescent lamp 5 arranges the straight pipe 51 to be erected vertically and feeds power from the upper external connection section 5a while at least one external connection section 5a is displaced upward. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
