A method and device for cleaning the abdominal cavity in fish is disclosed. The device comprises transport mechanism(s) for introduction of the fish into the device, a fish detection device to determine when the fish has entered the device, and first and second cleaning tools. The first and second cleaning tools are configured, in use, to be inserted into the abdominal cavity of the fish, and move in opposing directions to each other, following the inside of the abdominal cavity.
