Cast iron mfr - with reducing gases being blown in at a higher temp than usual

Process for fabricating cast iron in the blast furnace by blowing hot reducing gases (mainly H2 and CO) into the charge pref. above its softening point. When the degree of oxidation of the gases is greater than normal the gases are blown into the furnace at a higher temp. than usual in order to re-establish normal working conditions. The process advantageously uses the full reducing properties of the gases.
