发明名称 CONTAINER STORAGE MEANS AND CRANE HANDLING EQUIPMENT THEREFOR
摘要
1,267,751. Storage systems; stacker cranes. KAISER INDUSTRIES CORP. 28 March, 1969 [3 March, 1969], No. 16515/69. Headings B8E and B8H. A cargo container transfer and storage system comprises the combination of an array of openended compartments 50 in a storage housing 30 and a stacker crane 36. The crane 36 includes a cage 124 supported for vertical movement from a bridge 100 straddling an aisle 52 and provided with trucks 102 running on rails 104. A mast 108 depends from the bridge 100 and includes guides 114 for the cage 124. The cage 124 includes a pair of end members 128 each with inner and outer legs 130, 132 having foot portions 150 mounting horizontal rails 152. These rails run transversely of the aisle 52 and are alignable with rails 68 in the compartments 50. A carriage 200 is mounted on wheels 226 running on the rails 152. An adjustable lift mechanism 230 is mounted within the carriage 200 and includes a frame with end beams 232 interconnected by side bars 234. Longitudinally adjustable intermediate lift beams 238, 239 extend transversely of the side bars 234 and can be set to particular container sizes (see Fig. 9). Lift cylinders 240 enable the mechanism 230 to be moved vertically with respect to the carriage 200. In operation of the system a container 38 is located on a rail car 34 at a transfer station 82 and the spread of lift beams 238, 239 adjusted to the container size by motor (270), Fig. 7 (not shown). The cage 124 is then lowered over the container 38 so that locking elements 320 enter sockets (92), Fig. 11 (not shown), in the top of the container 38. The lower part 118 of each guide 114 is reduced in size compared with the upper part 116 (see Fig. 5) to allow the cage 124 adequate float for proper location over the container 38 to permit the locking elements 320 to engage correctly, the elements 320 are then twisted to secure the container 38. The lift mechanism 230 is then operated to raise the container 38 relative to the carriage 200. The crane 36 is then operated to bring the cage 124 in line with a selected compartment 50 with the rails 152 in line with the rails 68. The carriage 200 is then extended into the compartment 68, the wheels 226 running over both sets of rails 152, 68 through operation of transfer mechanism 400, Fig. 8. The lift mechanism then lowers the container 38 on to the floor 60 of the compartment 50, the container 38 is released by the locking elements 320 and the carriage 200 withdrawn. Removal of a container 38 from a compartment 50 is the reverse of the above. The operations may be carried out automatically (Figs. 13 to 15 (not shown) illustrate hydraulic and electrical control systems), or semi-automatically under the control of an operator in a control cab 480 or in a control tower (not shown).
