Sheathed sodium metal melt refining packet - using controlled melting point sheath material

Na melt addition packet comprises Na in a sealed metal sheath, the m.pt. of which is selected to suit the metal bath temp. into which it is to be introduced. The sheath material must be compatible with the melt metal and should pref. have a m.pt. slightly lower than the melt. The method is used for Al melts.
