The prayed on dye or colouring layer is covered with a glass layer obtained by dipping the blank into a molten glass bath after which the article is subjected to finish pressing or blowing operation. The process avoids the burning-in or fritting stage after the application of the colouring. It also permits greater flexibility in colour selection.
